Registered Nurse (RN) - Pediatric Inpatient Float - 24 - 36 hrs
About the role
As a Registered Nurse in our Inpatient Pediatric Float Pool at Boston Children’s Hospital, you will bring your expertise to meet the ever-changing nursing care needs across the enterprise. Working across all inpatient settings, each shift brings opportunities to work with new colleagues, further develop and learn new skills.
Responsibilities
- Providing competent nursing care to patients (newborn – adult) and their families across all inpatient settings including the surgical, medical, oncology, bone marrow transplant, intermediate care, neuroscience, cardiology Behavioral Health Emergency Department, and Inpatient Psychiatry units.
- Potential for cross training in additional areas including various procedural units, and the Emergency Department.
- Delivering family-centered care as a member of a multidisciplinary team that provides expert care.
- Working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with many opportunities for learning and career growth with comprehensive orientation to meet individual needs.
- Opportunities to be involved in hospital-wide committees and to precept new staff and nursing students.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in nursing
- A minimum of 1-year inpatient acute care RN experience required with a wide range of diagnoses preferred. Pediatrics RN experience preferred.
- Ability to work 50% Day/Night rotations, every third weekend, and flexibility of availability required. Straight nights with every third weekend also available.
- A current Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse (RN).

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting. Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors. Pay
Base pay is $76003.20 - $163678.32 annually.
