Job Overview
RWJBH is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at the New Brunswick campus. The compensation offered will depend on the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
Qualifications
- ASN or Nursing Diploma (Required)
- BSN or must be completed within 5 years upon hire (Preferred)
- PALS (Required)
- 3 to 5 years of pediatrics RN experience (Required)
- 1-2 years of PICU RN experience (Highly Preferred)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficient computer skills
Certifications and Licenses
- BLS and ACLS certification (Required)
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License (Required)
Responsibilities
- Provides nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards.
- Ensures awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
- Assures safety in practice and reports identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
- Maintains knowledge of the patient population served.
- Supervises and directs the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members.
- Collaborates with other patient care providers.
- Consistently sets and evaluates priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement.
- Utilizes the nursing process to integrate all aspects of the provision of care and individualizes the plan of care to address specific patient needs.
