About the role
The Philadelphia Children's Crisis Response Center at Belmont Behavioral Health is seeking dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurses to join their nursing team. The center provides care for children and adolescents experiencing behavioral and psychiatric crises, offering a crisis and transitional unit for brief treatment and stabilization.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients' physical and behavioral health needs.
- Develop and implement nursing care plans.
- Maintain medical records and educate patients and their families.
- Provide nursing care and services within the standards and scope of nursing practice.
- Ensure physicians’ orders are legible and transcribed appropriately.
- Accurately administer medications and document controlled substance medication administration.
- Complete admission and discharge processing efficiently and accurately.
- Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients, visitors, co-workers, and others involved inpatient treatment.
- Exhibit therapeutic rapport with patients while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Coordinate activities of the unit as directed.
Requirements
- Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license as required by the state of employment.
- One year of nursing experience; previous psychiatric, mental, behavioral, or substance use nursing experience preferred.
- CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available).
Qualifications
- Must be eligible to practice nursing in accordance with state requirements.
- Knowledge and utilization of universal precautions in providing direct patient care.
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain therapeutic rapport.

Schedule
Full-Time Day OR Night shift (7:00 - 7:00) with a 3 x 12hr schedule and rotating weekends.
