Role Overview: A Registered Nurse (RN) Orthopedic Surgery Lead provides expert nursing care within an assigned unit, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs. Key Responsibilities: Assess patient physical, psychosocial, spiritual, educational, cultural, and safety needs; determine nursing diagnoses; set realistic patient-specific outcomes; individualize care plans; implement medical and nursing orders; participate in hourly rounding; observe safety guidelines; and may act as shift supervisor. Skills & Qualifications: Effective interpersonal skills, ability to work under pressure, and basic computer skills required. Must hold an accredited nursing degree and a valid RN license in the state. Certifications such as CPR, ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required depending on specialty area. Preferred qualifications include a BSN, specialty certifications, and experience in acute care settings. Additional Requirements: Experience in neonatal intensive care or bariatrics, wound care certification, and advanced training in fetal monitoring are advantageous. The role demands strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and customer service skills to ensure quality patient outcomes.
