About the role
This position involves providing specialized nursing care in an Orthopedic/Spine unit, focusing on assessments, diagnoses, care planning, implementation, and evaluation to meet patient needs across various conditions, including joint replacements, fractures, and cardiac cases.
Responsibilities
- Assessment & Reassessment: Systematically evaluate patient health, involving patients, families, and healthcare teams as appropriate.
- Nursing Diagnosis & Outcomes: Analyze assessments to determine diagnoses and set expected outcomes collaboratively.
- Care Implementation & Coordination: Deliver evidence-based nursing interventions to achieve patient goals.
- Evaluation: Use critical thinking to assess patient outcomes, recognize issues, and adjust care plans accordingly.
- Discharge Planning: Evaluate and coordinate discharge needs utilizing available resources.
- Professional Practice: Maintain high standards of nursing practice through ongoing evaluation and improvement.
Qualifications
- Diploma, Associate’s Degree (ADN), with BSN or MSN preferred.
- Prior healthcare experience preferred; equivalent education and experience acceptable.
- Current Oklahoma RN license and BLS certification required, with ongoing re-certification.
- New graduates must complete a nurse residency program.
