About the role
The position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Operating Room, serving as a Nursing Coordinator.
Responsibilities
- Lead staff scheduling, patient assignment, and resource allocation for 24-hour coverage.
- Supervise and coordinate nursing, technical, and support staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Collaborate with the Nurse Manager to implement policies, monitor quality, and improve nursing services.
- Participate in recruitment, onboarding, clinical education, and staff development.
- Mentor staff, conduct performance appraisals, and promote professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulations, and standards.
- Act as a clinical consultant for patients, families, and staff, troubleshooting clinical and operational issues.
- Maintain clinical practice by providing direct patient care when needed.
- Oversee supply management and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned and assume Nurse Manager responsibilities in their absence.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program with a Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years clinical nursing experience, with leadership experience preferred.
- Current New York State RN license, CPR certification, and relevant specialty certification within 3 years.
