About the role

This full-time, evening-shift role provides direct clinical patient care. You will assume responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing, and coordinating direct clinical care to assigned patients on a per-shift basis and at the unit level. The role includes supervision of staff to whom appropriate care is delegated and accountability for supporting the Chief Nursing Officer to ensure high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and resource management related to patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to all patients.
  • Assume responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process.
  • Direct care according to established standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control, with the goal of discharging the patient with an optimum level of care.
  • Coordinate and plan patient care within the prescribed medical regime.
  • Administer all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy.
  • Perform and fulfill all HICS (Hospital Incident Command System) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed during emergencies and/or disasters.
  • Know the hospital’s emergency codes, including their purpose and appropriate actions, and adhere to hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required).
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing (preferred).
  • Recent acute care experience (preferred).
  • Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice as required by law, regulation, or state policy.
  • AHA BLS certification (required).
  • AHA ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP certifications, if applicable by corporate policy for the unit of hire.
