About the role

Reporting to the Director of Surgical Services/Operations Coordinator/Shift Manager/Designee, the Registered Nurse provides direct patient care to pediatric through geriatric patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. The RN is responsible for monitoring the patient’s physiological status in the immediate operative period. Communicates with the surgeon and anesthesiologist about patient conditions and receives direction for patient management. Intercedes to maintain optimum homeostasis.

Up to $10,000 sign-on bonus based on experience (does not apply to internal applicants).

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to pediatric through geriatric patient populations in the surgical environment
  • Monitor patient’s physiological status during the immediate operative period
  • Communicate with surgeons and anesthesiologists regarding patient conditions and management
  • Maintain optimum homeostasis for patients

Requirements

  • Current California RN license
  • Current BLS certification
  • ACLS certification within nine months (within one year for new graduates)
  • PALS certification within one year
  • TCAR certification required within 12 months of hire/transfer
  • 2+ years of surgery experience
  • BSN preferred

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged, extensive or considerable standing/walking
  • Lift/position up to 50 lbs
  • Push/pull up to 50 lbs of force
  • Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
  • Manual dexterity and mobility
  • Ability to move quickly
  • Ability to adjust vision sufficiently to perform position accountabilities

Pay

$59.31 - $88.42 hourly (individual wages are determined based upon qualifications and experience).
