About the Role

Responsible for providing care in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, and other standards established by professional groups and regulating bodies. Nursing care is delivered in accordance with ECU Health and entity-specific nursing policies, procedures, and professional standards of care and practice.

Responsible for the provision and coordination of nursing care, including the collection and analysis of assessment data, identification of expected outcomes, and development of a plan of care in collaboration with the patient, family, and other interdisciplinary team members. Identifies interventions to attain expected outcomes, implements the interventions, evaluates patient progress, and documents the process. This care includes sensitivity to age-specific and unique needs of the patient and family.

Promotes and evaluates the effective functioning of the health care team. Collaborates with team members to meet patient and family needs throughout the episode of care. Delegates tasks and activities as appropriate and governed by the NC Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care in accordance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collect and analyze patient assessment data to identify expected outcomes.
  • Develop and implement a plan of care in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Evaluate patient progress toward outcome attainment and document the process.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to meet patient and family needs.
  • Delegate tasks and activities as governed by the NC Nurse Practice Act.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Nursing, Associate in Nursing, or higher.
  • At least 1 year of experience in an acute patient care setting.
  • Current NC RN license or licensure to practice in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state.
  • Health Care Provider certification required.
  • AHA Basic Life Support certification required.

Pay

Staff Nurse (PRN) hourly range: $33.00 - $51.98. Final compensation is determined at the offer stage.

Schedule

  • PRN - Days (Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM).
  • PRN requires a minimum of 12 hours worked per six-week scheduling period.
  • No weekends.

ECU Health Beaufort Hospital - Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center, Washington, NC.

The hospital also offers general medical and surgical services, operative services, a women’s birthing center, rehabilitation services, and outpatient clinics.
