About the role

ChristianaCare Hospital, located in Newark, DE, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join their 6E Oncology Unit. As an oncology nurse, you will implement a relationship-based care model that focuses on building strong connections with patients, families, and colleagues. Responsibilities

  • Implementing a relationship-based care model focusing on building strong connections with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Providing care for patients with hematology and oncology diagnoses, including cancer diagnoses, chemotherapy administration, and medical management of conditions like febrile neutropenia, uncontrolled pain, and nausea/vomiting.
  • Assisting patients who require inpatient care for their diagnoses or for managing symptoms related to their treatments.
  • Working in a 38-bed inpatient unit that provides both scheduled and emergency care and procedures 24/7.
  • Handling patients from a variety of sources, including their homes, the emergency department, physicians' offices, and other units within the hospital.

Requirements

  • DE RN License or a Compact RN License.
  • BSN or commitment to obtaining BSN within three years of hire date.
  • BLS required.
  • Registered Nurse with 1-2 years of experience in med/surg preferred.
  • Oncology certification preferred.

Qualifications

  • Experience in oncology nursing is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

The hourly pay range for this position is $41.28 - $66.05. The actual salary offered will depend on individual factors including skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.

Schedule

Day shift (7a-7p) with weekend and holiday requirements per departmental guidelines.
