Overview
Sentara Health is hiring an RN for the 2S Oncology team at Virginia Beach General Hospital. A $20,000 sign-on bonus is offered for experienced nurses, while new graduates receive a $7,500 sign-on bonus. The shift is full-time (36 hours) nights.
Job Summary
The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible for performing competent nursing care using the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. The RN must possess clinical knowledge and skills relevant to specific clinical areas.
Department
2 South Oncology at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is a 26-bed unit dedicated to leukemia and lymphoma treatment, radiation, gynecologic cancers, hematologic disorders, and end-of-life care. The unit prepares nurses for careers in oncology or other specialties.
Education
An Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) is required, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher preferred.
Certification
- Virginia or compact multistate RN (Registered Nurse) license in good standing
- BLS within 90 days of hire
- Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of hire
- Oncology Care - Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)/Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) or Sentara approved course
