Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology

About the role

The Medical/Surgical IU Oncology unit at Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) on a part-time, PRN basis. This position requires 3 shifts every 6-week schedule period with 1 of these shifts being a weekend shift. The position also requires 1 major and 1 minor holiday per calendar year.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs.
• Document patient care activities accurately and timely.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Qualifications

• Experience in oncology or general medical/surgical settings is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of oncology and medical/surgical nursing principles and practices.

Benefits

Benefits are available to eligible full-time employees, though this position is part-time and benefits are not applicable.

Pay

$38.20 - $57.30 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
