Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology

About the role

Raleigh General Hospital Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology position is PRN Days, in-person. Raleigh General Hospital is part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare delivery network with facilities coast to coast. The Oncology Unit provides compassionate, patient-centered care to adult patients undergoing treatment for various cancer diagnoses and hematologic conditions, including chemotherapy administration, symptom management, pain control, blood product administration, palliative support, and patient/family education. The hospital is a 300-bed facility located in Beckley, WV.

Responsibilities

• Performs accurate and thorough patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Initiates appropriate nursing interventions based on assessment findings
• Provides age- and condition-appropriate nursing care
• Completes timely and accurate documentation supporting medical necessity in the medical record
• Develops, implements, and revises interdisciplinary care plans for each patient

Requirements

• Current state RN license
• Associate's or bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire
• ACLS and PALS certifications required within six months of hire
• One year of experience preferred
• ASLS certification preferred
