Responsibilities

  • Collects and analyzes resident data, assesses needs, and develops individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team; monitors and revises plan as resident conditions change.
  • Provides and supervises nursing care in accordance with state/federal regulations and facility policies, including medication administration, lab draws, and nursing procedures; ensures residents’ rights and autonomy are respected.
  • Supervises RNs, LPNs, and CNAs; delegates tasks, evaluates performance, corrects unprofessional behavior, ensures safe staffing, and provides guidance during emergencies or when on call.
  • Maintains accurate resident records, charts, and reports; communicates resident care needs, physician orders, and dietary recommendations effectively to staff and interdisciplinary team.
  • Administers and monitors medications according to policy, maintains proper documentation, follows controlled substance procedures, and ensures adherence to safety and error-free standards.
  • Promotes positive workplace culture, participates in QA programs, continuing education, and audits; maintains current licensure and knowledge of health regulations, infection control, and safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • Must have current registration, as a Registered Nurse, in the State of Minnesota.
  • Must have successfully completed or seek certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and emergency care for the health care provider.
  • Bachelor of Science Nursing Degree.
