Jefferson Regional Specialty Hospital is a 76-bed, inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital and behavioral health unit jointly operated by Jefferson Regional and Lifepoint Health. As a Registered Nurse (RN) Nurse Manager, you will manage the daily operations of our 36-bed Behavioral Health Unit, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, regulatory standards, and quality patient care initiatives. This leader directs and oversees patient care delivery, fostering a safe, therapeutic, and high-quality environment for patients experiencing acute behavioral health needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Develop specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives that directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
- Manage staff relations, including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict resolution.
- Oversee scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
- Monitor departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations.
- Determine and justify needs for systems, equipment, and supply purchases; monitor usage and oversee proper working order and stock supplies.
- Assess the quality of patient care delivered and coordinate patient care services with patients, staff, physicians, and other departments.
- Provide patient care when necessary.
- Create and foster an environment that encourages professional growth.
- Integrate evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree required; BSN preferred.
- Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Previous behavioral health experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
