About the role
The New Graduate RN Residency Program at Banner Health offers a comprehensive training experience for recent graduates. This program is accredited by the ANCC and provides a collaborative learning environment where new nurses can refine their skills and transition into professional nursing roles.
Responsibilities
- Achieve a full and comprehensive training experience by staying on your NNE unit for at least 12 months.
- Leverage resources for professional and personal development.
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care according to professional standards.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and revise the plan of care based on patient needs.
- Communicate effectively with other caregivers and promote continuity of care.
- Evaluate patient progress and effectiveness of teaching, making adjustments as necessary.
- Document assessments, plans, and evaluations accurately and in accordance with policy.
- Delegating tasks appropriately and supervising the activities of the health care team.
- Interact with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Promote/support growth of others through precepting and mentoring.
Requirements
- Recent or upcoming graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
- BLS certification required.
- No more than 12 months of RN experience.
- Experience in an acute care setting within the past 12 months.
- Ability to operate a personal vehicle and possess a valid driver's license.
Qualifications
- Current RN license in state of practice.
- Professional certification preferred.
- Maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work.
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in using the Cerner electronic medical health record system.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Benefits
- Flat rate $1.50/hour weekend shift differential.
- 15% night shift differential when applicable.

- Benefits begin the first of the month following start date.
Pay
This is a full-time, benefitted, and paid position offering a competitive salary commensurate with experience.
Schedule
The position is a Day shift position with three 12-hour shifts per week, including weekend and holiday rotations.
