About the role

MSU is the ideal nursing unit for developing a strong foundation in nursing skills and fostering a culture of family and teamwork. Specializing in medical and surgical care, MSU accommodates up to 36 patients and offers comprehensive care with a focus on pain management, mobility, and complication prevention.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, coordinates, and directs quality, compassionate care according to professional nursing standards.
  • Supervises LPNs, PCAs, PCAs/US, US, Ortho Techs, and other non-licensed staff.
  • Assesses patient conditions and develops care plans, providing education and coordinating care with other healthcare professionals.
  • Documents observations, care provided, and changes in care plans accurately and comprehensively.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities and supports changes to improve patient outcomes.
  • Maintains performance, patient, and employee satisfaction and adheres to financial standards.

Requirements

  • Current Alabama Board of Nursing RN license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider training required or obtain within 30 days of start date.
  • BSN preferred, minimum Associates degree required.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
  • Current ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NRP certifications.
