About the Role
The Mother Baby RN provides high-quality, safe, cost-effective total nursing care to postpartum patients and neonates by utilizing the nursing process. The RN assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the needs of the patient and family members. The RN directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, and infection control, with the goal of discharging the patient with an optimum level of care. The RN utilizes evidence-based practice in accordance with professional standards and adheres to the Florida State Nurse Practice Act. The Mother Baby RN will provide care in a family-centered environment where mothers and newborns remain together for the duration of their hospital stay. This position is also responsible for delivery room attendance and stabilization of the well newborn.
Up to $10,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates, paid over 24 months.
Responsibilities
- Provides patients with an optimum level of care
- Administers medications, procedures, and treatments in accordance with hospital policy and procedure
- Delivers patient education, communication, and documentation
- Demonstrates professional attributes and fulfills hospital responsibilities
- Performs clinical skills pertaining to the area of practice in accordance with hospital policy and procedures
- Demonstrates the ability to adapt to varied age-specific patient populations
Requirements
- Florida RN License
- American Heart Association BLS
- American Heart ACLS
- NRP at hire or within 90 days of start date for inexperienced RN
Qualifications
- Education:
- Minimum: Graduate of an RN program
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Experience:
- Minimum: One (1) year experience in a Med/Surg area or in nursery/mother baby unit preferred
