Job Overview

RWJBarnabas Health Somerset is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for their Labor and Delivery Unit.

Qualifications

• ASN or Nursing Diploma with 1-2 years of Mother Baby/Postpartum and/or level II or level III NICU experience
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Proficient computer skills
• BSN or must be completed within 5 years upon hire
• Level II intermediate Nursery/NICU experience

Certifications And Licenses

• Required: BLS, ACLS, Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License, NRP certification within 6 months of hire, STABLE Certification within 6 months of hire

Essential Functions

• Provides nursing care in the health care system within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards
• Affirms awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics
• Maintains a realization of own individual level of knowledge and experience and assumes responsibility for advancing knowledge of self and others of the patient care team by communication with and utilizing resource persons and programs available
• Reports identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors
• Knowledge of the patient population served
• Supervises and directs the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborates with other patient care providers
• Consistently sets and evaluates priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement
• Individual practitioner and the interdisciplinary team manager, utilizes the nursing process to integrate all aspects of the provision of care and individualizes the plan of care to address a specific patient’s needs

Scheduling Requirements

Night Shift: 36 hours per week
Weekend and Holiday requirements

Pay Range

$46.90 - $63.44 per hour
