About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) will work on the 6B Medical Unit, providing care to patients with acute and chronic medical needs. The unit accommodates up to 40 patients and covers various medical conditions such as pneumonia, syncope, diabetes management, COPD, and altered mental status. The position requires a strong commitment to patient care and a willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Implement a relationship-based care model, fostering connections with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Provide care according to the medical needs of patients, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and performing diagnostic tests.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Assess patient needs and adjust care plans accordingly.
  • Document patient care activities accurately and timely.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • RN License in Delaware or a Compact State.
  • BSN preferred or committed to acquiring BSN within 3 years of the hire date.
  • At least one year of med/surg experience as an RN.
  • BLS certification required.

Qualifications

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, lift, push, pull, carry, reach, twist, handle, stoop, bend, and climb as per practice area-based Physical Demands Checklist.
  • Frequent exposure to biological elements with occasional exposure to chemical and environmental elements, as per the practice area-based Physical Demands Checklist.

Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

Hourly pay range: $41.28 - $66.05. The actual salary offered will depend on individual factors including skills, relevant experience, and qualifications.

Schedule

Three 12-hour shifts each week, including weekends and holidays, per department guidelines.
