About the role

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for Cornell 3-our Medical Surgical Unit! This is a full-time day shift position (12 hours) in Charlottesville, VA. One of the best staffed Medical/Surgical units in the state!

Responsibilities

  • Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
  • Assess, diagnose, outcomes identify, plan, implement, coordinate care-teaching and health promotion and evaluate.
  • Possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care.
  • Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5 to 1:6 for personalized care.
  • Support professional growth and blend resources from a major medical center with a community hospital's warmth.

Requirements

  • Registered nursing license (Required)
  • BLS required within 90 days of hire
  • One year of acute care RN experience (preferred)
  • Previous healthcare experience (preferred)
  • Medical Surgical experience preferred
  • Hospital based experience as an LPN or similar preferred

Qualifications

  • Education: Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required); Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
