This is a Registered Nurse 1 or 2 vacancy open to candidates with any amount of RN work experience.

About the role

This is a part-time, 24 hour/week, day shift position in the Medical Surgical Department, an 18-bed unit where nurses provide care for individuals across the life span (pediatrics to geriatrics) experiencing illness and accidents appropriate for an acute community hospital setting. This includes stroke, telemetry, orthopedics, medical issues, palliative care, and hospice.

The MaineHealth Registered Nurse - Acute Care role provides high-quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes. The RN collaborates, delegates, and communicates with members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal care.

RN II: This level is competent in their clinical role and has demonstrated the ability to care for most patients assigned. Though not able to care for every patient type within their area of hire, the RN II demonstrates how to obtain the appropriate resources to develop required skills and knowledge over time. This level includes automatic advancement after 1 year as an RN I—must be in good standing and meet RN I requirements.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
  • Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required.
  • Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
  • One year of recent RN experience required.
  • Automatic advancement from RN I level if all onboarding requirements are complete, including the New Grad Residency (where available).

Other certifications may be required specific to area of practice or in accordance with Department guidelines.

Pay

The pay range for this RN II position is $37.09 to $50.17 per hour. Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
