Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg, Full-Time, Night Shift
About the Role
Join UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital as a Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical Department. This is a 100% onsite position based in the greater Chicagoland area. Eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $15,000.
The Registered Nurse functions as an interactive resource in clinical nursing and professional practice, collaborating with leadership to coordinate and deliver direct patient care. This role includes serving as a resource, preceptor, mentor, and leader for physicians, peers, and care team members while providing participative supervision in collaboration with the Patient Manager.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with physicians to assess, design, coordinate, implement, and evaluate patients’ plans of care and outcomes.
- Demonstrate necessary skills and knowledge to provide complex nursing care and delegate tasks to other care team members based on unit-specific competencies and patient age.
- Monitor and ensure the quality of patient care and patient satisfaction.
- Pursue professional development opportunities independently and accurately.
- Assume responsibility for the daily operations of the Patient Care Center, ensuring effective and efficient maintenance.
- Work within accepted service standards and support the Vision of Ingalls Hospital.
- Partner with patient care team members to proactively identify and address individual patient, family, and physician needs, exceeding expectations through appropriate customer relations.
- Know, follow, and actively support the philosophy, mission, and Vision of Ingalls Hospital.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and standards of care.
- Observe and comply with all corporate compliance requirements and report issues as they arise.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with an Associate's degree in Nursing or higher.
- Current RN Licensure from the State of Illinois Department of Professional Regulation or a valid temporary permit to practice nursing in Illinois.
- Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
- Acute care or related experience providing nursing care to patients within at least the last five years.
Schedule
- Full-time, 12-hour shifts.
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM.
Pay
The pay range reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected for this position, based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and current market data. Compensation at hire will vary based on candidate qualifications, experience, and organizational considerations, such as internal equity.
