About the role

The Adult Med/Surg Float Pool RN will provide care to medical surgical adult patients with medical conditions that require close observation, monitoring, and interventions. This unique department is a specialty group comprised of dedicated nurses that support patient care throughout the hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care in an empathetic, equal opportunity manner that is crucial to patients and family’s diversity, preserving their autonomy, dignity, and rights.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments as determined by patient’s condition and/or the hospital policies, procedures or protocols and prioritize care accordingly.
  • Establish and implement nursing care plans for each patient through assessment, development, activation, evaluation, and discharge.
  • Prioritize, delegate, and maintain oversight of duties and responsibilities of other staff members as a team leader.
  • Maintain confidentiality in matters related to patient, family, and facility.
  • Demonstrate the ability to deliver care or service by adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and health care team members.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Valid RN License from MN Board of Nursing
  • 1 year of Telemetry Experience
  • 1 year of Peripheral IV start experience
  • 1 year of Emergency Department, Intermediate, or Progressive Care Unit Experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher

Pay

The posted compensation range corresponds to the minimum and maximum pay rates outlined in your union agreement for the respective job classifications at the time of job posting. An individual's pay rate within this range may be influenced by various factors, including FTE, skills, knowledge, educational background, and qualifying experience as specified in the contract.

Schedule

This position will be working 0.6 FTE (48 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 12 hours on the day shift with an every third weekend rotation (F,S,S) and a holiday rotation.
