Registered Nurse (RN) - L&D

About the role

Under minimal supervision, provides nursing care for a group of patients assigned to the nurse based on matching the patients’ needs with the nurse’ competencies. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

• Minimum: Graduate of accredited school of nursing
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree

Experience

• Minimum: None
• Preferred: Two years in acute care; previous clinical nursing experience

Certifications/Licensure

• Current Texas State License for Registered Nurse
• AHA Basic Life Support – Healthcare Provider (must have active BLS on hire; must convert to AHA within 60 days)
• AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer
• AHA Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) – must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer
• Fetal Heart Monitoring (requirements vary by experience level and service line)
• S.T.A.B.L.E. – must provide proof of prior completion or obtain within 6 months of hire or transfer into unit
