About the role
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System - Lawrenceburg is a close-knit team providing comprehensive, high-acuity care to critically ill patients through evidence-based practice, advanced technology, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
- Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
- Documents patient care given.
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
- Maintains a safe and clean environment for patients, families, and staff.
- Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
Requirements
- A current Tennessee or compact state RN license.
- An associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 7 days of hire.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 3 months of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 3 months of hire.
Qualifications
- One-year previous experience preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Skills
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Pay
$10,000 Sign-On Bonus available to eligible applicants.
