About the Role
This is a full-time leadership position requiring on-call floor rotation. The RN Infection Preventionist evaluates resident care quality related to Healthcare Acquired Infections (HAI) and Community Acquired Infections (CAI), ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and standards.
Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze infection data, present findings, and recommend actions.
- Monitor staff adherence to infection control measures.
- Develop and deliver education to staff, residents, and families on infection prevention.
- Serve as a resource on infection control across departments.
- Monitor infection trends and respond to public health advisories.
- Lead COVID-19 prevention efforts and ensure compliance with CDC guidelines.
- Develop, implement, and oversee the infection control program.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of infection prevention practices, laws, and regulations.
- Uphold integrity, professionalism, and company policies, including the Code of Conduct.
Requirements
- Nursing diploma (associate or bachelor’s degree).
- Active RN license.
- CPR certification.
- Specialized infection prevention training.
- Knowledge of infection control practices, public health advisories, and antibiotic stewardship.
- Proficiency in independent decision-making and maintaining confidentiality.
- Adherence to policies and professional standards.
Qualifications
- Prior geriatrics experience preferred.
- State-specific certifications (e.g., Certified TB Nurse) preferred.
