About the Role
Wilson Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for our 18-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This is a PRN, in-person position.
About the Unit
Our ICU is staffed with Registered Nurses (RNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and operates with a 1:2/3 nurse to patient ratio. Patients treated include those on vents, continuous BiPAP, vasopressor drips, DKA on insulin drips, and ETOH on CIWA, along with a mix of intermediate care. This role provides an opportunity to work in a newly opened unit that is very spacious and bright. Staff Physicians are approachable. Our unit strives for quality patient care, and you are encouraged to share your knowledge with others.
Responsibilities
- Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
- Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
- Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
- Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
- Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
- Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
Requirements
- Current state RN license
- Degree from an accredited nursing school
- Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire
- 1-2 years of Med/Surg experience preferred
