About the role
As a Registered Nurse in the Float Pool, you will provide comprehensive and compassionate nursing care to patients with a variety of diagnoses across multiple clinical units. This dynamic role requires flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care wherever staffing needs exist. You will complete a competency-based orientation program to maintain expertise across diverse patient populations and care settings.
Responsibilities
- Deliver patient-centered nursing care using the Professional Practice Model.
- Float regularly between clinical units to support staffing and patient care needs.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate priority-based nursing care.
- Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Integrate evidence-based practice and current clinical standards into patient care delivery.
- Promote patient safety, quality care, and positive patient experiences.
- Delegate appropriate care activities and support teamwork across departments.
- Utilize electronic medical records and healthcare technologies to document and manage patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support organizational goals for excellence in care delivery.
- Foster a culture of communication, respect, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, colleagues, and healthcare disciplines.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all organizational policies and standards.
- Support quality, safety, and patient experience initiatives across the organization.
- Utilize clinical judgment and critical thinking in rapidly changing situations.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing required.
- Current New Hampshire Registered Nurse licensure required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of med/surg telemetry nursing experience required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively across multiple clinical settings.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to complete competencies for assigned clinical areas within 30 days of hire.
