Responsible for
- Delivers patient care in accordance with ANA Scope and Standards of Care and Practice, Patient Bill of Rights, and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.
- Delivers patient care in accordance with specialty-specific standards (e.g., Oncology Nurses Association, American Association of Critical Care Nurses) as appropriate.
- Affirms patient plan of care based on changing health care needs.
- Evaluates patient teaching using appropriate education resources and assesses the effectiveness of the teaching.
- Models effective leadership skills through role modeling, mentoring, and effective communication.
- Directs ancillary staff (LPN’s, PCA’s, Tech’s, Unit Secretaries, etc.) and is knowledgeable of the NJ Scope of Practice guidelines.
- Supports a professional practice environment by functioning as a role model and resource person, and participating in the orientation of new employees.
- Participates in unit-based and organization-wide activities, committees, and community activities as appropriate.
- Identifies own learning needs and pursues educational support to meet these needs.
- Routinely utilizes Evidence-Based Practice literature, policy, and procedure manuals to ensure consistent and accurate care delivery.
- Participates actively in the Performance Improvement process to evaluate the quality of nursing care delivered to patients.
Education Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
- Bachelor's Degree BSN preferred.
Experience Qualifications
- Minimum two-year current clinical experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Excellent clinical assessment skills, communication skills, and time management skills.
- State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required upon hire.
- BCLS - Basic Life Support BLS through American Heart Association required upon hire.
- National certification related to specialty area may be required dependent on specialty area.

Pay Range
$44.00/hour - $55.00/hour
About the Role
This position is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating direct care to assigned patients with simple to complex health care needs in inpatient, outpatient, and procedural areas. The role requires continuous responsiveness to dynamic patient acuity changes and rapidly changing nursing care responsibilities.
