About the role
Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Central Float Pool. This full-time, night-shift position (7 p.m. – 7 a.m.) offers a $20,000 sign-on bonus for qualified applicants and premium differentials. The Central Float Pool is hospital-specific and covers units with increased acuity or staffing needs, primarily assigned to IMCU or Medical/Surgical units. Training and precepting are available for RNs interested in transitioning to ICU or ED. This role is ideal for those who enjoy variety or wish to learn new skills. Due to the advanced level of practice, 2 years of acute care nursing experience is preferred, though new grad RNs with hospital-based acute care experience may also be considered.

Responsibilities
- Float to units with additional need due to acuity or staffing, primarily IMCU or Medical/Surgical units.
- Participate in training and precepting opportunities for ICU and ED if interested in transitioning to critical care.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) (preferred).
- Students completing a registered nursing program with previous acute care clinical experience may be considered.
- Registered Nursing License (required). Students obtaining a license with previous acute care clinical experience may be considered.
- BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
- ACLS certification required within 1 year of hire.
Qualifications
- 2 years of acute care experience (preferred).
- Critical care experience (preferred).
- Medical/Surgical experience (preferred).
- Previous healthcare experience (preferred).
