Registered Nurse (RN) - Float Pool

About the role

As a Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care across various inpatient departments, including Medical/Surgical, Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, and ICU. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care, coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, monitor patient conditions, and educate patients and families. Responsibilities include documentation, participating in rounds, delegating tasks, and supporting a culture of safety and quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care
• Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes in clinical status
• Educate patients and families on health management and treatment plans
• Document care accurately and thoroughly in accordance with organizational standards
• Participate in patient care rounds and interdisciplinary meetings
• Delegate tasks appropriately to unlicensed assistive personnel while maintaining accountability
• Support a culture of safety and participate in quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Active New York State RN license
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, and stroke education depending on the assigned department
