About the Role
This Emergency Department Fellowship Track is designed to prepare experienced Registered Nurses for independent ED practice through structured didactic training, clinical rotations, and mentorship.
Responsibilities
- Participate in didactic training covering emergency nursing principles, trauma, cardiac, neurological, and pediatric emergencies, along with advanced life support protocols.
- Complete clinical rotations in high-acuity ED zones, including trauma bays and critical care units.
- Engage in simulation-based scenarios to develop skills in IV insertion, airway management, trauma care, and emergency medication administration.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and receive mentorship to achieve clinical competence for independent ED functioning.
- Deliver high-quality emergency care, manage multiple patient needs, and develop expertise in trauma, cardiac, neurological, and pediatric emergencies.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg or Step Down experience.
- BSN preferred or willingness to obtain within 3 years.
- Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, and self-motivation skills.
- Flexibility to work in a Level I Trauma Center environment.
- Hold BLS certification.
- Obtain ACLS, PALS, and TNCC during or after orientation.
