Leigh ED welcomes new grads and experienced nurses interested in moving into this new specialty. The 20-week Transition to Practice/Nurse Residency program focuses on the orientation transition experience with intentional knowledge support and skill acquisition for practice in the Emergency Department.
We invite you to join our team in a high-volume, fast-paced unit with over 40 beds and more than 100,000 patient visits annually. Our department includes multiple treatment areas that care for patients across all acuity levels, offering diverse clinical exposure and the opportunity to work with a strong team focused on quality outcomes and performance excellence.
Responsibilities
- Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process
- Apply standards of practice including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation
- Apply standards of professional performance including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health
- Possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas
Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
- Bachelor of Science Nursing - BSN or MSN (preferred)
- Registered Nursing License (required); students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License are eligible
- BLS required within 90 days of hire
- ACLS & PALS or ENPC within 1 year of hire
- Minimum of 1 year emergency, intensive care, intermediate care or med/surg nursing experience preferred; new grads are welcome to apply
Schedule
- Full Time (36 hr/week)
- Available Shifts: Day Shift 7a-7p, Mid Shift 11a-11p, Night Shift 7p-7a
