Registered Nurse RN-Emergency Department

Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) position offering full-time night shifts (36 hours per week) on a varied schedule.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients upon arrival, including vital signs, medical history, and current symptoms.
• Triage and prioritize patients based on the severity of their condition, ensuring critical cases are attended first.
• Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and treatments as per physician orders; perform emergency procedures such as wound care and splinting.
• Continuously monitor patients' vital signs and response to treatments, adjusting interventions as needed.
• Collaborate closely with the medical team, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff.
• Accurately record patient information, treatment plans, and responses to care in electronic health records (EHR) or paper charts.
• Provide patients and families with information regarding diagnoses, procedures, and follow-up care instructions.
• Respond to rapid response calls, code blue situations, or any critical situation requiring immediate intervention.
• Ensure patient rights, dignity, and preferences are respected at all times while providing care.
• Follow all infection control protocols to minimize risk for patients and healthcare staff.
• Participate in ongoing evaluation of care quality and suggest improvements to optimize patient outcomes.
• Support the hospital mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures.
• Participate in required education for DNV programs as applicable to the position.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (BSN preferred).
• Current RN license in the State of Oregon.
• ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certification required.
• Certifications specific to areas of clinical specialty preferred.
• Previous clinical experience preferred but not required.

Pay

Wage range: $48.18 - $81.97 per hour.
