Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients upon arrival, including vital signs, medical history, and current symptoms.
- Triage patients based on the severity of their condition, prioritizing critical cases first.
- Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and treatments as per physician orders.
- Perform emergency procedures like wound care, and splinting.
- Continuously monitor patients' vital signs and response to treatments, adjusting interventions as needed.
- Work closely with the medical team, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff.
- Accurately record patient information, treatment plans, and responses to care in electronic health records (EHR) or paper charts as required.
- Provide patients and families with information regarding diagnoses, procedures, and follow-up care instructions.
- Respond to rapid response calls, code blue situations, or any critical situation requiring immediate intervention.
- Ensure that the patient’s rights, dignity, and preferences are respected at all times while providing care.
- Follow all infection control protocols to minimize the risk of infection for patients and healthcare staff.
- Participate in the ongoing evaluation of care quality and suggest improvements in processes or procedures to optimize patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. BSN preferred.
- Licenses/ Certifications/ Registrations: Current RN license in the State of Oregon. ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certification required.
- Experience: None required. Previous clinical experience preferred.
