About the role

Aurora Medical Center – BayCare Emergency Department seeks a Casual (PRN) Registered Nurse to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Major Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, dynamic environment using the nursing process.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with clinical protocols.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to drive positive patient outcomes.
  • Promote a culture of safety by identifying risks, intervening appropriately, and ensuring a safe environment for patients and team members.
  • Support professional development by maintaining certifications and completing required education.

Schedule Details/Additional Information

  • Casual/PRN; minimum shift requirements apply, varied shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed)
  • Licensure & Certification: RN license in applicable state; BLS required (additional certifications may be required based on specialty)
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred)
  • Experience: Typically 1+ year of clinical nursing experience preferred
  • Key Skills: Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking, ability to prioritize and respond in a fast-paced ED environment, excellent communication and teamwork skills, flexibility and adaptability to changing staffing needs

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform frequent standing, walking, lifting, and patient handling, including assisting with transfers.
  • Must respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
  • Exposure to clinical environments requiring appropriate protective equipment.
