Registered Nurse (RN) - DOU - Direct Observation Unit

About the Role

Responsible for overseeing patient care within the Direct Observation Unit as a Registered Nurse (RN). Lead and model professional nursing practice, ensuring high-quality care and patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily operations, delegate tasks, and evaluate healthcare outcomes using root cause analysis.
• Ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations while facilitating interdisciplinary communication.
• Supervise nursing staff, participate in hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
• Participate in weekend coverage and on-call rotations to maintain continuity of care.
• Conduct daily rounds, verify documentation accuracy, and ensure proper management of supplies, medications, and equipment.
• Oversee systems for patient data collection, discharge planning, and emergency response readiness.
• Maintain staff competency, enforce infection control standards, and manage staffing schedules based on patient needs.
• Handle personnel counseling and disciplinary actions when necessary, and support emergency responses.

Qualifications & Skills

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school, with current licensure and CPR certification.
• Preferably holds a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing.
• Demonstrates leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills, with ability to work within budgets and adhere to compliance standards.
