About the role
Responsible for leading and managing the Direct Observation Unit (DOU) as a Charge Nurse (RN). The role involves leadership in a fast-paced acute-care setting, supporting hospital programs, and fostering teamwork and positive relationships with patients, staff, and physicians.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and oversee daily shift operations
- Manage staffing
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Promote quality patient care
- Facilitate effective communication within the team
- Support staff development
- Participate in department and organizational strategic planning
- Monitor resource utilization
- Assist in budget management
- Support quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure staff adherence to certification and licensure requirements
- Address patient, family, and staff concerns promptly
Qualifications
- Must hold a California RN license
- BSN degree
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Minimum of 3 years clinical experience with demonstrated leadership skills
- Successful completion of EKG and NIHSS within 30 days of hire
- Experience in clinical management and presenting professionally is preferred
