Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse, the Dialysis Registered Nurse is responsible for:

• Utilizing the nursing process while delivering, directing and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit.
• Planning, coordinating, and providing patient care to include interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization, and accessing community resources.
• May perform other related duties as assigned or requested, including Charge Nurse (ACLS certification required).
• Serving as a dialysis nurse, overseeing dialysis treatments required by patients suffering from acute or chronic kidney failure as ordered by physicians.

Requirements

• RN License in the state you are applying
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification is preferred initially and required after 90 days of employment

Qualifications

• Certification through the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC) is preferred but not required
