About the role
Provides professional care and assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. Provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process in collaboration with other health care team members.
Responsibilities
- Performs assessments in an ongoing and systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychological & cognitive status.
- Formulates a goal directed plan of care which is prioritized and based on determined nursing diagnosis & patient outcomes.
- Implements care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent and continuous manner.
- Establishes priorities of patient care based on essential patient needs and available resources.
- Evaluates effectiveness of care given and patient progression toward outcomes.
- Identifies patient's/significant other's learning needs and implements appropriate measures to meet them.
- Captures and documents patient care in accordance with established standards.
- Coordinates interdisciplinary functions.
- Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- State of CT RN license.
- BLS certification required.
- Minimum 6 months of L&D (RN) experience required.
- AACLS, NRP certifications required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
- EFM certifications required or must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
Qualifications
- Nursing certification.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR).

36.00 control hours, 7pm-730am with holiday and weekend requirements
