About the role
The Crisis Recovery Center at Riveon Mental Health and Recovery transforms crisis care by offering 24/7 walk-in behavioral health services. This position operates on 12-hour shifts and is based in Lorain, OH.
Responsibilities
- Works closely with physicians or nurse practitioners regarding the care and treatment of clients receiving psychotropic medication.
- Makes scheduled appointments for clients newly prescribed or undergoing medication changes and monitors these clients.
- Conducts physical/mental health assessments, obtains vital signs, blood sugar testing, weights, BMI, waist circumferences, and other relevant screenings.
- Administers urine drug screening and breathalyzer tests.
- Provides education on physical/mental wellness in individual and group settings.
- Facilitates groups, clinics, and client/family education sessions.
- Assists with the administration of prescribed psychotropic medication, including injections, and conducts medication monitoring.
- Communicates with case managers, counselors, and other members of the treatment team to ensure proper care coordination.
- Secures medication in accordance with state, federal, and center regulations.
- Promotes and supports the implementation of Trauma-Informed Care within the organization.
Requirements
- Valid Ohio state license as an RN.
- Experience working in behavioral healthcare preferred.
- Computer skills including familiarity with Windows and Word applications.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
- Favorable references and/or evaluations are required.
- Training in trauma-informed and/or trauma-specific services is a plus.
Qualifications
- Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 10 pounds.
- Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and operate required equipment.
