About the Role
This position reports to the Senior Director for Professional Practice and collaborates with the healthcare team to assess, develop treatment plans, and provide education for patients with pressure injuries, abdominal stomas, wounds, fistulas, drains, and incontinence.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized ostomy care, including patient assessment, education, and discharge planning.
- Manage complex wounds, fistulas, skin conditions, ulcers, and skin tears through consultation and direct care.
- Serve as a clinical resource and expert guidance on ostomy, wound, and skin care management for staff and patients.
- Conduct education, training, and updates on best practices, products, and advances in wound, ostomy, and skin care.
- Ensure quality standards, monitor outcomes, evaluate products, maintain records, and establish care protocols.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in nursing and completion of an accredited wound and ostomy care program.
- Minimum five years of clinical nursing experience, with at least six months to one year in specialty care.
- Current registered nurse licensure and board certification or eligibility within one year.
