About the Role
This position supports patient care and staff education in wound, ostomy, and skin care management, reporting to the Senior Director for Professional Practice.
Responsibilities
- Assess, develop treatment plans, and provide care for patients with pressure injuries, wounds, fistulas, drains, and incontinence issues.
- Conduct specialized ostomy assessments, educate patients and families, and develop discharge plans for successful recovery.
- Serve as a clinical resource and consultant for healthcare staff on ostomy, wound, and skin care management.
- Educate staff and patients through formal training, in-services, and updates on best practices and products.
- Ensure quality standards by maintaining certification, monitoring outcomes, evaluating supplies, and establishing care protocols.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in nursing or equivalent knowledge, with completion of an accredited wound and ostomy care program.
- Minimum of five years clinical nursing experience, including six months to one year in specialty care.
- Current RN licensure, with board certification or certification within one year of program completion.
