About the Role

Responsible for preparing the healthcare workforce for the clinical setting by teaching competency-based curriculum programs. Provides training in the classroom and simulation setting for all newly hired or transferring clinical team members. Delivers role-based educational instruction for the entire Prisma Health system.

Responsibilities

  • Teaches live onboarding orientation courses and competencies for all newly hired and/or newly transferred clinical team members.
  • Delivers clinical training and team member development courses to empower the clinical workforce.
  • Provides instructional education to new graduate team members enrolled in the residency program.
  • Coordinates and provides instruction for competency-based annual educational programs for the Prisma Health system.
  • Implements and provides live instructional education for as-needed programs as healthcare services evolve.
  • Records test scores and completion status in the learning management system for all educational offerings.
  • Maintains accurate records of all educational offerings and monitors curriculum completion.
  • Collaborates with educational department team members to provide feedback on materials.
  • Maintains individual validation requirements for competency training.
  • Preserves clinical expertise and knowledge in the assigned healthcare specialty.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in the specific area of healthcare assigned.
  • Three (3) years of experience in the specialty area.
  • In lieu of a BSN, a nursing diploma or Associate degree in Nursing may be considered if the applicant signs a Memorandum of Understanding to enroll in an accredited BSN or MSN program within one year and obtain the degree within four years.

Qualifications

  • Holds a current RN compact/multistate license recognized by the NCSBN Compact State or is licensed to practice as an RN in the state of employment.
  • Certification by a specialty board credentialing organization recognized by Magnet preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of office equipment (fax/copier).
  • Data entry skills and working knowledge of patient care equipment.
  • Ability to demonstrate and maintain clinical expertise in the assigned healthcare specialty.
  • Specialty training such as arrhythmia, learning management systems, and electronic medical record systems preferred.
