Job Description

Provides leadership, support, and coordination of unit’s daily operations during designated shift. Assists in directing, organizing, and prioritizing all shift activities to ensure patient care and staff needs are met.

Ensures appropriateness of admissions/cases to the unit/department and that appropriate staff skill mix exists to provide safe patient care.

Participates in the interviewing and selection process for new staff. Provide feedback and recommendations regarding current staff performance.

Conducts audits as needed regarding documentation, patient charges, and outcomes. Resolves patient complaints and other issues that could negatively impact patient care.

Acts as a liaison to the multidisciplinary patient care team.

Maintains supply usage and costs at the unit level to ensure fiscal accountability.

Affords assistance to management with maintaining staff and department compliance with all regulatory and accreditation agencies.

Education

• Associate's of Nursing [Required]

• Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Work Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of recent OR RN experience [Required]

• RN leadership experience [Preferred]

Licenses And Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]

• Basic Life Support BLS Cert [Required]
