About the role

Join our dynamic Cath Lab team, consisting of RNs, Physicians, and Special Procedure Technologists (ARRT)! This Cath Lab RN will work in conjunction with the Physician and Specialty tech to perform procedures. We offer a wide variety of cardiac procedures, including diagnostic, structural, and electrophysiology. We serve both pediatric and adult patients.

Location: Banner Heart Hospital (6750 E Baywood Ave).

Schedule

  • Full-Time: 3 x 12-hour shifts, Monday - Friday
  • Day Shift: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM
  • Required Night, Holiday, and Weekend Call; must live within 30 minutes of facility for call requirement

Responsibilities

  • Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs.
  • Reviews patient history and physical with patient/family and ensures completion within appropriate timeframe.
  • Reviews available information obtained by other health care team members, diagnostics, and laboratory data; reports abnormal results to physicians and caregivers.
  • Completes assessment and reassessments according to patient need and policy.
  • Formulates a plan of care, including discharge planning, utilizing assessment data and input from patient, family, and health team.
  • Initiates a plan of care based on patient-specific needs, assessment data, and medical plan of care.
  • Sets realistic, measurable goals in collaboration with the patient/family.
  • Considers physical, cultural, psychosocial, spiritual, age-specific, and educational needs in the plan of care.
  • Plans care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and revises the plan based on changing patient needs.
  • Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of health care team activities.
  • Provides care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, complying with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Delegates appropriately and provides nursing supervision for care provided by other licensed nurses and personnel.
  • Promotes continuity of care by accurately communicating patient status to other caregivers.
  • Evaluates patient and family response to care and teaching; revises the plan of care as needed.
  • Evaluates patient progress toward goals and outcomes in collaboration with the health care team.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of patient teaching.
  • Documents assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record in a legible, timely, and accurate manner.
  • Provides care based on best evidence available and may participate in research activities within clinical practice.
  • Participates in unit or facility shared leadership, education, role development, and orientation of personnel, patients, students, families, and visitors.
  • Promotes/supports growth of others through precepting and mentoring.
  • Contributes to society through activities leading to excellent patient outcomes.
  • Actively participates in improving national nursing quality indicators and outcomes, including participation in professional organizations.
  • Interacts with staff at all levels, physicians, patients, families, external contacts, and other health care providers to report or clarify information.
  • Synthesizes and prioritizes data from multiple sources to support patient and family responses to health status changes.

Requirements

  • Must possess a current, valid RN license in the state of practice, temporary/interim RN license, or compact RN licensure for the current state of practice.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • Must have Cath Lab or EP experience.
  • Experience in the clinical area for which you are applying is desired.
  • Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area of work as demonstrated through annual validations.
  • Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year of experience in an acute care hospital setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area.
  • Must live within 30 minutes of the facility for call requirement.
  • In a Home Health setting, must be able to operate a personal vehicle with a valid driver's license and active auto insurance.
  • For positions in Behavioral Health clinical settings serving children, an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card is required at hire and must be maintained.
  • An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire for certain positions.
