Registered Nurse (RN) Case Manager

Responsibilities

• Serve as a consistent resource throughout the continuum of program services, identifying barriers to therapy and assisting patients in understanding and navigating these barriers.
• Act as an educator who possesses knowledge and practical experience about clinical treatments and the emotional and financial implications of a new diagnosis, chronic condition, or life-threatening condition.
• Empower patients by providing information and education about their prescribed therapy, proper administration and dosing, insurance coverage, and resources for financial assistance.
• Support patients in managing the stress involved in their diagnosis and encourage their participation in their personal care process.
• Report adverse events and product complaints in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and good manufacturing practices.
• Perform additional tasks or projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Successful candidates must have clinical nursing experience with demonstrated competence in educating and managing patients with a new diagnosis or chronic medical condition.
• Knowledge about clinical aspects of the relevant disease state, including protocol therapy and common prescribing algorithms.
• General computer skills.
• Able to adapt to changing work assignments.
• Service-oriented and able to communicate effectively with patients, family members, and physicians.
• Multitasking and interpersonal skills.
• Registered Nurse licensed in the state of Indiana or Kentucky.
• 2-3 years of oncology nursing experience.
• Oncology clinical nursing experience with demonstrated competence in educating and managing patients with a cancer diagnosis.
• Knowledge about clinical aspects of oncology including protocol therapy.
• Nurseline triage, Call Center Utilization Management, Call Center Case Management, or Case management or Clinical Trial Nurse experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Regularly required to talk or hear.
• Frequent sitting for long periods.
• Use hands to type, handle, and feel.
• Reach with hands and arms.
• Prefer candidates who can type at least 35 words per minute with 97% accuracy.
• Minimal travel as needed.
• Operates in a professional office environment.
• Routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.
