Employment Type:Full timeShift:12 Hour Night ShiftDescription:Position SummaryThe Registered Nurse (RN) – Inpatient Cardiology provides comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care to adult patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions in an inpatient setting. This unit also functions as an overflow from Intermediate Care unit as well as a Level 1 Stroke Unit. This role requires strong clinical judgment, collaboration, and the ability to manage complex cardiac patients in a fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide safe, evidence-based nursing care to inpatient cardiology patientsPerform comprehensive assessments and monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, labs, and patient statusAdminister medications and treatments per provider orders and clinical protocolsRespond promptly to changes in condition, rapid responses, and cardiac emergenciesCollaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary care teamEducate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, procedures, and discharge planningMaintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical recordSupport quality, safety, and patient satisfaction initiativesRequired QualificationsEducation: Graduate of an accredited college or university affiliated nursing programLicensure: Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse RN in Connecticut.Certification: BLS certification requiredPreferred QualificationsEducation: Bachelor of Science in Nursing BSN degree preferred.Experience: Prior inpatient cardiology, telemetry, step-down, or acute care experienceCertification: ACLS certification (or willingness to obtain within designated timeframe)Work Schedule: Full -TIme-36 Hrs/Night ShiftEvery Other Weekend/HolidayMinistry/Facility InformationSaint Francis Hospital has been an anchor institution in Connecticut since 1897.
