About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) prescribes nursing care, delegates nursing activities, and coordinates the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care to provide optimal quality care, consistent with the hospital’s mission and nursing philosophy, objectives, and standards. Has full access to patient health information.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in North Carolina
• Successful completion of hospital and Holding Room orientation, which includes age‑ and population‑specific skills required for continuity of care of preoperative patients and/or patients requiring interventions provided by the Department of Anesthesia
• Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required for Endo
• Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and ACLS by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• Any additional certifications per unit‑based requirement
• Endoscopy experience preferred for Endo

Skills

• Skilled in peripheral venous access
• Competent to administer Moderate Sedation and assist with Deep Sedation

Essential Physical Requirements

• Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position, including walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
